Founded by Radisphere in 2012, the Radiology Quality Institute (RQI) is a collaborative research organization dedicated to the identification and promotion of radiology quality standards and process improvements.

With access to Radisphere’s extensive quality data, outcomes, and analytics, the Institute is focused on developing performance benchmarks and sharing relevant information to deliver measurable improvements in radiology quality for unparalleled levels of patient care. Working with health care quality organizations, the RQI has a focused research agenda to identify, develop, and promote:

• Technology and workflow innovations that deliver measurable improvements to radiology standards in the areas of interpretative accuracy, appropriate utilization and communication of critical diagnostic information
• New models for improving the performance of radiologists in specific areas such as peer review, secondary reads of high risk studies, critical findings communication, consultations and turnaround times for final reports.

The RQI is dedicated to excellence in radiology standards and processes. The Institute administers quality improvement programs that are consistent with Radisphere’s "just culture" approach, sharing best practices to improve health outcomes and increase accountability for measurable performance.  As a commitment to its research partners and their cooperative goal of furthering radiology performance benchmarks, Radisphere will make its quality outcomes and performance metrics transparent to Institute members. Through collaborative sharing of performance criteria, the RQI can further advance radiology standards and processes – ultimately improving health care delivery and patient care.
