FAQs
Home FAQs

  • Q:Can Radisphere provide full radiology services 24x7x365?
    A:
Yes. Radisphere is a radiology group that provides full-service radiology coverage solutions, including final reports interpreted by the onsite radiologist and remote subspecialty radiologists for 24/7/365 coverage.
  • Q:How does Radisphere provide comprehensive interventional radiology procedures to meet the needs of the medical staff?
    A:
Interventional Radiology coverage is the key requirement of the onsite radiologist.  We will conduct a thorough review of the procedures performed historically at your site, and of the requests made by the medical staff to ensure that we recruit and place the correct individual with those skills.
  • Q:Does Radisphere only provide final reports?
    A:
Yes. All of Radisphere’s reports are final reads.  Radisphere provides all after-hours support--no third-party teleradiology is used.
  • Q:What subspecialty coverage does Radisphere provide?
    A:
We provide MSK, Neuro, Body, Cardiac, Pediatric, Nuclear Medicine, and Women’s Imaging specialists. Our subspecialists are fellowship trained and/or have extensive work experience and have interpreted a minimum of 10,000 cases.  All radiologists must undergo interpretation testing to ensure that their expertise meets the standards of the Radisphere team.
  • Q:Where are Radisphere radiololgists located?
    A:
All of our radiologists are located within the United States and are Board Certified.
  • Q:Does Radisphere commit to contracted turn-around times for Final Reports?
    A:
Yes. We are committed to meeting or exceeding our contractual guarantees to service levels.
  • Q:How does Radisphere measure report turn-around times?
    A:
The start time for TAT measurement is when Radisphere receives the images and the technologist confirms the order. The end time is when the radiologist signs the report, which is at the time of diagnosis because we use voice recognition.
  • Q:Does Radisphere report turn-around time performance to the client?
    A:
Yes. Reports are delivered electronically to hospital administration on a monthly basis, along with Critical Findings and Consultations performance data. Radisphere also provides a quarterly CEO update with key metrics including service level performance and utilization data.
  • Q:What type of clinical leadership support is provided by Radisphere?
    A:
The onsite radiologist provides onsite support and will serve as your medical director. Radisphere’s Chairman of Radiology is also involved with our client base and each subspecialty is led by a Clinical Specialty Director.
  • Q:Does Radisphere actively participate in hospital Tumor Boards, MEC and other Leadership Meetings?
    A:
Yes. Our radiologists partner with the medical staff and are happy to participate in these meetings.
  • Q:What type of operational support is provided by Radisphere?
    A:
Radisphere is a radiology group that provides operational support in the areas of Account Management, Client Implementation Support, Clinical Workflow Support, Technical Implementation Support and RT Support.
  • Q:Is Radisphere’s Operations Service center available 24/7/365?
    A:
Yes. Radisphere’s Operations service center is available to assist you 24/7/365.
  • Q:How does Radisphere support referring physician consultations?
    A:
We support consultations 24x7x365. While the onsite radiologist is at the facility, he/she will provide consults (or send to subspecialty, if preferred). Additionally, the remote radiologists will be available night and day, and on weekends and holidays. Remote consultations are available by phone or online with a simple internet connection. Through our web-enabled solution, physicians and radiologists can view images at the same time.
  • Q:How long does it take Radisphere to respond for referring physician consultation?
    A:
Our consultation responses happen within minutes. We track, monitor and report on our consultation performance. Radisphere will provide a detailed summary of which physicians are using consults, as well as providing our response times.
  • Q:What is Radisphere’s approach towards ensuring quality?
    A:
Radisphere’s quality programs are designed to support and complement the client’s quality programs, fulfilling the Joint Commission requirements for professional practice evaluation. Radisphere’s Quality Management Department is staffed with full-time professionals to administer the program, including radiology technologists with multiple modality experience and a manager who is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).
  • Q:Does Radisphere have a Peer Review program?
    A:
Yes. Radisphere’s Peer Review program is a rigorous program that is random, frequent and double-blinded. The purpose of the program is to promote the quality of interpretations within the organization by having a comprehensive program to objectively measure quality and by providing direct feedback to our radiologists.
  • Q:Does Radisphere have a Concurrence Review process for high riskhigh-risk studies?
    A:
Yes. Our Concurrence Review process identifies high-risk studies, which are then automatically routed to additional radiologists for concurrent review in order to ensure accuracy.
  • Q:Does Radiphere have a standardized approach to reading and reporting studies?
    A:
Yes. Radisphere has developed a proprietary diagnostic checklist to eliminate mistakes due to omissions, which results in high-quality, standardized reports.
  • Q:What is Radisphere’s approach towards ensuring that “Critical Findings” are communicated and tracked?
    A:
Radisphere has a clearly defined process in place to reliably report a Critical Finding (CF). When our reading radiologist discovers a CF, our radiologist will notify our Service Operations staff, which will locate the ordering clinician. The CF is not closed until contact is made. Once the communication has been completed, the radiology report is date and time stamped with confirmation of the communication.
  • Q:What type of utilization reports, performance metrics would Radisphere provide?
    A:
Radisphere provides a comprehensive and customized "Radiology Performance & Utilization Analysis" for all hospital clients on a quarterly basis. This report includes an executive summary and detailed performance data for areas such as TAT, critical findings and consults. This report also provides imaging utilization by location and modality, out-patient and in-patient volumes, etc.
  • Q:What technology requirements are needed for Radisphere to provide service?
    A:

    The only requirements:

    • VPN Connectivity for sending images and for flow of data (interfaces ADTs, Orders, Report Results and as a backup for dicom image transfer)
    • Bandwidth minimum of 10 MBs
    • Space in the Facilities data center/Racks/UPS/Power along with the IP addresses/ports for a Radisphere server that compresses images for transport (Radisphere covers the cost of the server)
